BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY, Ky.-- A manhunt continues in Breckinridge County, where a convicted rapist is on the loose. 41-year old Robert Waddell overpowered a deputy jailer who was transporting him to the hospital Thursday night. He was armed with something sharp.
Waddell later dropped the jailer off at a remote creek bed and took the van. The van was found this morning in a cornfield. Waddell was also spotted in the area around 7:30 this morning. That's been the only sighting of him. Several agencies and dogs have been a part of the search.
Waddell is white, around 5'9", and 210 pounds. He's basically bald, with strawberry blond hair on the sides. He no longer has the facial hair shown in the picture. He has several tattoos.
Waddell was being held on rape, burglary, and assault charges. He's already on the Sex Offender Registry on two counts of rape of minors. The victims were 13 and 14 years old.
Waddell is from Breckinridge County, but has ties to Ohio County, Kentucky. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
