the internet is serious business

Mittens Status Update: Owners are being huge jerks today. Wanted savory salmon, they gave me gourmet turkey. Again.
Reply from Mr. Jingles: Bite their toes. If that doesn?t work, throw up the salmon in their favorite shoes.
Reply from Mittens: LOLZ. I?m glad we?re friends.
But seriously, cats now have their own social networking website. It?s called Catmoji.?
I?m a crazy cat lady but I haven?t gone so far as to create a Facebook account for my feline family. Though I know several people who have. But instead of clogging up Facebook, how would you like to give your cats their own playground where they can make kitty friends? Thanks to Catmoji, you can.
?The Internet loves cats, we also?love cats and cats make people happy,? founders Matthew Phiong and Koekoe Loo explained to BetaBeat. ?Our mission is to make the Internet a better and happier place with cats.?
The interface is more Pinterest and Tumblr than Facebook but once you?ve set up an account you can upload the cutest (or most embarrassing) photos of your cat, pick a ?catvatar,? and?choose what mood they?re in. You can also filter your searches to moods if you?d rather just browse happy cats
It may seem like another silly way to waste time on the internet but the founders say it?s serious business. ?We want to be the online identity for cats, i.e. Facebook for cats,? they wrote. ?Catmoji offers a different experience all together compared to those social networks.?
The site launched just before Christmas of 2012 but do you think we?ll see the rise of the next Lil Bub or Grumpy Cat on Catmoji? Only time will tell but cats? stake on the internet just grew a little larger. Like when they take up all of the bed. Jerks.
