After cracking up during a romantic scene with Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts, Robert Downey Jr. snarks to the "Avengers"?camera crew, "You gonna have a gag reel on this like 'Smokey and the Bandit'?"
Yes indeedy. As the famed "Bandit" theme music rolls, a four-minute "Avengers"?blooper reel ensues, offering up some very un-superhero-like goofs from the?blockbuster hit.
It seems that even if you're Captain America, you might have some trouble putting on a parachute. Or land flat on your back when swinging from a tree limb.
And it's really not that easy for Iron Man to?don his helmet. Or for Thor to juggle his famed hammer.
Cobie Smulders gets to chew some scenery in a very "Khaaaaan!"-like way as she mourns a lost character, uttering the classic line, "You will be avenged! I will get the Avengers, and you will be avenged!"
Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye?muses a little about "Star Trek," only to find his memories of that show are perhaps not as fresh as he thought.
Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner?gets to play the opposite of his raging Hulk character and run away in fright.
But it's Downey Jr. who repeatedly steals the show, with the cocky charm of an improv comic, once snapping, "Jarvis, don't ever speak to me?once I'm off-camera."
The gag reel will be included on the "Avengers" DVD and Blu-ray, which will be out Sept. 25.
