It?s a man. It?s a plane. It?s a ? super horse?
Super Horse can do just about anything, and now the Checotah Oklahoma Round Up Club is sending out the search signal to find that high-flying steed. The Club is holding its inaugural Super Horse event Oct. 22 at the Checotah Oklahoma Round Up Club?s indoor arena, complete with all the rodeo necessities.
While Super Horse does not require a red cape or flashy tights, he cannot be without his superpowers. All equine contestants must compete in heading, heeling, breakaway roping, barrel racing and pole bending to win the title of Super Horse. Points are awarded to the 1st ? 20th placeholders, per event. With $100 added, each event will also pay over $300 for 1st place.
The horse with the most points at the end of the day wins the event, becomes Super Horse Champion and receives a prize saddle and other awards. But even superheroes have their sidekicks. Among some of the rewards include $500 added money, a blanket for the reserve champion and other prizes for the top five from each event.
The Checotah Oklahoma Round Up Club arena is located two miles east of Checotah on the south side of Highway 266. The Super Horse Competition begins at noon. Pre-entries are required, and a 25-head limit applies. Entry forms with the accompanying $250 entry fee can be sent to Renea Bolling or Dennis McAlister. Their contact information is below.
